2. Give one example of a film genre and list the typical codes and conventions for that genre.

Genre: Horror

Horror films often involve a complex set of codes and conventions that will give the audience the idea that they are watching a horror film.

audio/visual fatures:close ups, chase sequences, low key lighting, screams, storms, darkness, mysterious/dramatic music

Iconography: Blood, Weapons, violence, ghost, monsters, murderers, Darkness

Sets/setting: Typical haunted house or isolated setting e.g. forest

Character Roles: Villain/monster, Victim/s

Narrative (plot and story):normal, Disruption of normality, everything seems okay, or is it?
